My first time as a clan academy member...

A while ago, I was having a chat with EvaRavenspell, one of Alcarcalimo's friends, via Xfire. I could still remember the day when he suggested to join her clan, HeavensOracle, and even inquired her about it. Since my knight's still low-leveled, I decided to join the clan's academy. DeMucci, one of her clanmates, whispered to me that I must teleport to MRT (Monster Race Track) and meet him there. By the time I was welcomed into the acdemy, yching, also one of her clanmates, gave me some SOEs (scrolls of escape) to the castle.

I tried one of the SOEs, and I noticed that I was in a small space together with the Gludio Castle Mass Gatekeeper. After a short delay, I was teleported to the throne room. I was confused, for I saw that the door's closed, and I needed to go back to Gludin Village as soon as posible. Good thing, the chamberlain has the option to teleport members of the clan who owned the castle into certain places. By the time I checked the list, I noticed that both the Ant's Nest & Ruins of Agony had a small fee to teleport there. I selected Gludio Town first, then teleported back to Gludin Village via the gatekeeper.

Yeah, I was still anxious of what's like to be in a clan. But someday, I'll get used to it.

Thanks, EvaRavenspell, for welcoming me into your clan! ^^

Update: Some of my clanmates were generous enough to give me d-grade equipment, as well as adena. I was able to meet Alcarcalimo while I was on my quest as well. Thanks for coming! :D

Kaya Natin! : Of Good Governance

I could still recall the extraordinary event in my school yesterday, wherein there was a symposium going on between the members of Kaya Natin!. The group's main purpose is to promote awareness that there are still good people struggling to recover the good government virtues that were once apparent in our political system.

One of the speakers, the current Naga City mayor Jesse Robbledo, had shed his light on his unexpected chance to lead the city as mayor. Some of the good points he stated include equalizing opportunities, citizen chartership & awareness of what the current government is doing nowadays.

Next is the female Nueva Ecija mayor Sonia Lorenzo. The parts of her discussion in which it hit me with a powerful impact include the cooperation of both the Ateneo & De la Salle students for the Gawad Kalinga foundation and even the points of transformative education.

Grace Padaca from Isabela once again stepped into the spotlight with her inspiring story of her struggle with her current physical disability (she had polio when she was 3 years old). She told us that her father had to request the change of classrooms in her school to cope up with her condition. It happened until she was in college, wherein she had to use crotches in order to walk properly. She even mentioned about the Dy clan, a powerful political family who cared less about education because of their lust for power. Believe me, she had to compete in the elections a few times before she sucessfully overthrows them.

Lastly, Mr. Harvie Que had shared a story about his best friend who was now having an undesirable fate, and even a child who was selling sampaguita while he was on his car. He even stated the positive Filipino attitude of being optimistic despite having problems, as well as how an American commented about our country.

After their talking session, our school president stated his reflection about the meeting with them as the afterword. And there was even an open forum session as well. Finally, after the closing player, we went back to our classrooms really late, but still, it was worth the trouble.

Overall, it was a memorable experience, and their inspiring messages would soon be heard to everyone else... ^^

My current PC dilema + my cousin's arrival

I wasn't able to accomplish my L2 plan of completing the Dragon Fangs quest together with Alcarcalimo because of my current PC dilema. While I was browsing through the L2 forums, my monitor suddenly suffered from loopholes until it became totally blocked up and it was no longer working anymore. I had no choice but hibernate away from the computer until the problem's fixed. It happened last Friday, and I was so disconsolate, because I knew that we were supposed to agree on our meeting in-game so that he'll help me complete the quest with his dance buffs.

But anyway, my cousin has arrived from Dubai together with his wife & son last Thursday. I was really having fun together with the child. That really calmed me down despite the frustration that I've experienced for not being able to cope up, because I became anxious of what the bladedancer will say because of me not being able to go online during the weekends.

It's really a long story, but thankfully, my counsin was able to buy a new monitor. And because of that, I was relieved.

That's all for now... ^^

Already trying out Vimeo

A few days ago, I just created a Vimeo account. I noticed that it needs to be verified first before I could use all of its features. But anyway, it's really fun, for I was able to view & add to my likes some of the videos created by the L2 Fansite in Czech.

Here's my first video that I've uploaded last night:

Lineage 2 MTV from Kristine Osumo on Vimeo.

I'll add later some of my likes...

My first taste of defensive combat in L2

Since my Human was already a knight, I have the chance to experiment with the new skills that I've learmed after the 1st job change.

Last Saturday, during the afternoon, I learned the ff. skills:

Active: Majesty, Ultimate Defense & Shield Stun
Passive: Heavy Armor Mastery, Sword/Blunt Mastery & Shield Mastery

I decided to try out both Majesty & Shield Stun while I was completing the Sweetest Venom quest in the Dark Forest, just outside the Dark Elven Village. I trekked a long way towards some kilometers just before the entrance of the Spider's Nest. That was where I was busy killing the Prowlers for quest items.

As a preparation, I first used Majesty for enhanced P. Def., after activating the automatic use of shots (yeah, I still used the no-grade type). I noticed that this skill at level 1 lasts for 5 mins., but I believed that the duration will increase as it progresses. Before using Power Strike, my melee skill companion since the first 5 levels of my character, to attack the Prowler, I casted Shield Stun, hoping that the creature will see stars. I knew that the chance is not always 100%, for there were times wherein it was able to resist the stun, and there were even chances that there was no effect. But then again, it was really fun to experiment with these skills, although it really took a while before I finally got all the quest items and ran again towards the village to receive my adena reward.

Because of that experience, I can safely say that I'm enjoying being a knight, although I have to face tougher challenges in the future. I will do the Dragon Fangs quest in the next few days.

Time for me to go! Ciao! ^^

RMT retailers, now L2 load sellers?? + finding solace

A while ago, I read the topic in the L2 forums that OffGamers will be included in the list of load sellers for both Malaysian & Singaporean players. At first, I thought it would be a relief for them, since there was an announcement that the old load cards can still be used until Sept. 30. It was because the AMDG-Cubetech partnership is about to be expired. But then, I was shocked because during my chat with Alcarcalimo, he said that OffGamers was considered to be one of the Real-Money Traders (RMTs) ever existed. He even stated that they would sell adena just for a small fee (in dollars, that is). Due to these reasons, he was now pissed, and I was even vexed by these same reasons. Believe me, we're both proud because of the clarification that AMDG will not support RMT sellers, but now, we're crestfallen because the opposite has finally happened.

Aside from that issue plaguing the community right now, we both conversed about almost everything. I stated about the last post here (Look at the last post below.) and the reason behind it, that I had mood swings. He told me that he also had it once before when he was my age, and he was even attuned to atheism. My reason for mood swings was due to despondency of salvation, that I feared that I would not receive atonement due to my transgressions. Good thing he was helpful enough to guide me to cope up with it. It's really a long story, though.

I was even touched by one of the quotes that he stated to lift my spirit towards not losing hope. Here's the quote:

"You can be surrounded by darkness yet you see the light. Go towards it and don't let darkness swallow you whole."

It means that instead of being disconsolate towards problems, seize to moment to correct it. Never miss the chance, and look at the clouds & see the stars, for it would never come back to you.

Overall, I can bravely say that solace will be with me in every pain & bliss, and he, as a good comrade, is one of the reasons why I found it.

That's all for now... ^^

Of Obsolete Atonement & Failed Attempts

Up to now, I'm still in the state of vexation. It was because of two events that happened to me a while ago:

- My classmates & I had the Sacrament of Reconcilation in our small chapel in school. As I was waiting for my turn, my heart was burdened with regret over the past trangressions I've done. By the time I finished confessing my sins to the priest and doing the sermon, my burdened was alleviated. The hapless event started when our section was scolded because of being noisy in the chapel, and I really didn't want to hear it ever again, not anymore. That even lead me to think that being in a homogenous section was nothing else but a nightmare, and that atonement was nothing else but insincere.

- I was able to reinstall Lineage 2, but unfortunately, the patch was not updated to Gracia. I tried to log in, but it was worthless. I really need to complete the Collect Arrowheads quest for my Kamael, as well as to obtain one more level for my Human so that she will be able to do the job change quest.

I really wished that I could tell him about what happened, but as of now, I need to wait for the right time.

So much for being pardoned, for I was instead condemned...

Wanting to go back to Ether

It's been more than a week already ever since I stopped playing Lineage 2 due to the graphics bug I've experienced (Look at my first post for reasons.). While I was browsing through the L2 forums, I've noticed that Alcarcalimo has already updated his L2 SEA blog with a new post. By the time I visited the site and saw the latest post, I was burdened with regret. It was because of what he said that he had already started his adventure in Blackbird, and that he might not go back to Aria because of the difficulty of progression to become a Bladedancer. Shameful, isn't it? Anyway, here's the link:

http://http://alcartravels.blogspot.com/2008/09/return-of-comeback-dark-elf.html

If memory serves me right, before I stopped playing, my Human Fighter has 1 more level to go before she can do the job change quest to become a Human Knight, my Kamael Fighter's Collect Arrowheads quest was still on progress (6 or 5 more quest items to go), and my Elven Fighter has learned a new skill, in preparation for the Legacy of the Poet's quest. The L2 fanatic within me was crying her heart out already, but good thing I've already installed the Nvidia driver like he did.

And now, I'll be waiting for the day for my return to Ether, but for now, I'll arrange some things first

That's all for now! Wait for my return...

The start of my PW adventure...

I was finally able to try out PW a while ago. After the downloading the patch (which lasted for about 12 hours, and it took overnight to finish since I started it last night), installing it and updating the patch, I started logging in to Tiger server and created a character (more on that later.). It really took me a while to customize my avatar because of the good-to-the-last-detail customization feature, but at least the output's not that bad. After adjusting her features and adding a name (In fact, I was frustrated because of my name suggestions being used up already by others), I logged out first, logged back in and started my adventure in the world of Pangu.

One thing I first noticed when I was sent to the starter town is the help pop-out window. Since I'm just a newbie there, I had no choice to read it, since it also served to orient me on how to get used to the game. After completing my first two quests, I was awestruck by the time I reached Sword City. It was because of the design of the buildings and landscapes, as well as the background music(kudos to Toni Gonzaga for the song used as the PW theme song... ^^), and believe me, there were lots of people hanging around there as well.

Well, just like my previous favorite game, Cabal Online, PW was loaded with lots of quest for players to accomplish. In fact, they really help in leveling up, learning new skills and even in attaining important items, because of experience, yuan, soul & item reawards. Later on, I'll focus on leaping and learning craft skills.

By the way, if you want to look for me in Tiger server, my avatar's name is Elegeia, a Human Wuxia. Elegeia is one of the Greek words used as the origin for the word elegy, which means a mournful song or poem (one of my naming suggestions.). In fact, I was really happy that I chose that name for her. Here's the picture of my character:

From perfect world

That's what I've experienced from the game so far. See you guys there! ^^

At least all hope's not lost...

I've just had another chat with Alcarcalimo a while ago via Windows Messenger, and he said to me that he was able to play Lineage 2 again because he just downloaded and installed the Nvidia driver for his graphics card. The graphic bug was the reason why he ceased to play the game (Look at my very first post with the link of his story to know why.). It was really a bittersweet relief for me to know that he finally got the remedy for that problem. Why bittersweet? Well, here are the reasons:

- He just tried playing in Blackbird server, which is somewhat a shame for me since we're both in Aria
before the loophole occured, and he's still not in the mood to go back there because of the tension
experienced while he was on the way to become a Bladedancer.

- His Soulshot Dependency Syndrome was not yet fully recovered.

- I have just spent P50 to buy the LU! card to buy credits so that I would start packing up on item
mall purchases by the time I'll start playing Perfect World.

Right now, I'm still thinking of names that I'll use for my characters in PW. I've thought of using words that depicted sorrow, pain and other deep emotions as names, and he suggested me to a link that would help in choosing names for my avatar. The reason behind this is that names must not be too long (not more than 10 letters). If you want to see the website, look here:

http://www.fantasynames.net

Because of these reasons, I'll be looking forward to the day in which my online gaming spirit will ignite once again. But in the meantime, I'm currently installing PW in my PC, and I might go back to continue playing L2 to experience more about the Gracia patch.

That's all for now, doodlez... ^^

Squabble leading to a new bond...

Aside from my current PW exasperation, I'm having another enigma. But this time, it's not of online games, it's currently on friendship. And so here it goes:

There are two of my classmates (I would rather not post their names here for privacy and real identity protection.) who had fights that would lead their friendship to be torn asunder, which happened during my sophormore days. A while ago, during the presentation practice of some of my classmates after class, one of them told me about what really happened during that time. I asked her if there would be any chance for reconciliation, but she remarked that there would be none. She even told me that she was the reason why I became close to her ex-best friend, and that she regreted that I became her friend and even accepted the fact that I became closer to her former BFF rather than her.

That whas when I became crestfallen. In fact, it was like I was torn apart two friends, and as a general rule, I should choose only one. It was also like the victim became an instrument why the comrade became the enemy's ally.

Actually, friendship usually starts from common interests, and it seems that one of the girls mentioned here have more similar interests from the other, which is the reason why I became close to her. It was really diappointing that a friend nowadays would simply let him/her be taken away by circumstances, just like what happened to the one whom I've talked to when she simply let me be friends with her former friend.

I've learned that a friend should be strong to keep the bond tight, even if their union is put to the test.

That's all for now... ^_^

Going to try out PW

Since I have no other option to keep my online gaming spirit from dwindling, I decided to try out PW, suggested by fellow XFire chatmate Alcarcalimo. I just bought the installer CD yesterday in Megamall, and so I installed it. But there are errors while I'm installing it because of decompression problems in some files. I tried it again for a few times, including a while ago after I installed the Frost City manual patch. But still, the results were the same.

Since I have no choice but to delete the files (again). I'm currently in exasperation at this moment. I'm planning to be a Wuxia in Tiger server since he's there as well. I have no choice but to download the whole manual patch the hard way, but I'll do it some other time.

By the way, if you want to read about his travels in PW, look here:
